Activities
The simpler the better. Parents seem to want to be involved in the crafts. Over the years the girl’s favorite crafts were the ones where we put all the supplies on the table and told them to go for it. If the adult has to do half of it, it isn’t a good craft. Always, do one yourself at home. If you struggled with it as an adult, forget it. A note on Oriental Trading company crafts-they look great in the catalog but are frequently very difficult.

Game
Divide into groups of no less than 5. One group will be the “leaders”.
Everyone sings:
Come inside the giant’s house
Come inside the giant’s house
Come inside the giant’s house and see what you can make…
The leaders then yell out an object such as CHAIR or LAWNMOWER and the group must make that object using their bodies. Each group then demonstrates their object and the “leaders” may judge or everyone can just crack up at everyone else’s.

Always there is one person who isn’t asked to go in someone’s car and they feel left out. Use a deck of cards. Pull out 6 black and 6 red. Everyone picks a card. The red goes in one car and the black in other. If a child really wants to go in their mom’s car, give out the one red and black card to the child of the driver before picking. If there is more than one car, you can go by suits on the deck.
Only about 3 ½ hours away they have many things to do. We stayed at the Super 8, which included a free breakfast, and they had an outdoor pool. At the cave I suggest doing the Trogg tour. This must be scheduled in advance. It is only for the kids, it is a guided tour and they will receive hard hats that they get to keep. Kentucky Down Under Park is nearby and I suggest going. You can touch Kangaroos and Emus!
